Upcoming Announcements

COVID 19 Update - Wednesday, May 27, 2020

All parks and recreation programming will be canceled through June 30, 2020. Staff will be working to refund any fees paid for programs during this time period. Recreation staff will be working to find new ways to offer programming this summer while still protecting the health and safety of our participants, with the goal of reintroducing some limited programs in July and August.

Also, following the Minnesota Department of Health’s (MDH) guidelines, the Prairie Park Splash Pad will be closed until further notice. Staff will be monitoring changes from the MDH and will post updates in regards to the splash pad once they become available.

Playgrounds are open. While our team is working diligently to help ensure public safety, it’s not feasible to clean every nook and cranny on our structures.  Guardians and families should be careful to ensure children wash their hands after touching play structures and maintain six feet of space from other children.

Please practice social distancing and avoid close contact with others. The CDC recommends a minimum of 6 feet distance to help reduce the risk of spread between individuals.

Do not congregate in groups of 10 people or more. While we pride ourselves on being a friendly community, please avoid social gatherings in our parks at this time.

We need your help to keep our parks safe to you and others.

Please stay home if you are sick and practice good hygiene. Wash your hands after touching surfaces within the parks. Avoid touching your face. Sneeze or cough into a tissue or the inside of your elbow. Place garbage in trash receptacles.

Thank you for your patience!

Rainbow Scavenger Hunt

Now that Spring is here to stay, it's time to get active. Come out to any of our 12 city parks listed on the City Website and hunt for rainbow rocks. There will be more rocks hidden each week and if you find one, it's yours to keep, please take a selfie and post to our page! There will be one golden rock hidden and if you're the lucky one to find it, please take a picture and contact us, there is a grandiose prize for you! Clues will be released each day until the golden rock is found, clue one to be released tomorrow morning 4-21 @8am! Two rules: Have fun and no digging is necessary. Good Luck.

Clue #1 Mayor's Golden Rock Hunt: I am somewhere to imply I am smaller by my size.

Congratulations to Brianna, Cloe and Mom Jill Ness who found the golden rock yesterday.
We will be announcing the second Mayor's Golden Rock Hunt on Friday!
